Job description
Purpose:
The incumbent would play a critical role in identifying, assessing and mitigating operational risks within the Company. The role would be required to ensure compliance to internal risk management framework requirements, regulatory guidelines and implement and maintain effective risk management strategies to safeguard the Company’s interest. Context: The role operates within a framework of policies, procedures and guidelines established by both the Company and regulatory bodies. They collaborate with various functions to assess and manage risks effectively. Key Responsibilities: Conduct risk assessments across functions to identify potential risks and control weaknesses Support in development and implementation of risk management strategies, policies and procedures Monitor key risk indicators and escalate issues as necessary to the reporting manager and Chief Risk Officer Conduct root cause analysis of operational incidents / issues and suggest corrective action and monitor their implementation Provide risk management training and support to the 1st line and support in awareness programs / campaigns to staff Collaborate with 2nd line and 3rd line functions like Compliance, Legal, Audit to ensure alignment with risk management objectives Prepare and present risk reports to senior management and stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Certifications in risk management is a plus Skills/ Knowledge: Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong presentation and documentation skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively both in a team environment and as an individual contributor Working knowledge and understanding of various risk management tools and techniques, including risk assessment methodologies would be an added benefit Attention to details and ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast paced environment High energy levels and decision making capabilities that support robust execution of plans Experience: Progressive experience of around 3 to 4 years in operational risk management within the financial services industry, preferably in insurance sector. Experience of writing reports for and making presentations to senior management is desirable. Experience of a multi - cultural working environment is desirable. Experience of working in a fast moving environment and ability to work at pace.Job tags
