Job description

What You'll Do

EIIC has an opening within Center for Reliability & Safety for Engineering Manager- RMS for Vehicle group, for leading team for reliability &safety in the commercial tranismission & Automotive domain and implementing strategies focused around Design for Reliability/Safety for Eaton products. The core responsibilities of this position:

  • Provide leadership to improvise RMS methods within Vehicle group to manage and mitigate reliability & safety risks.
  • Responsibility to grow & create vaule on NTI, NPI and current product performance through reliability risk reduction.
  • Build Organization Capabilities – Hire right talent and development existing talent in line with Eaton's needs in the area for Vehicle R&S.
  • Manage a team of day-to-day operations, performance evaluations, career coaching for a talented team of Vehicle R&S engineers.

1. Provide leadership to improvise Vehicle R&S methods to manage and mitigate reliability & safety risks.

  • Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in reliability & safety and adjacent areas like digitalisation for warranty analytics,problem solving,prognostic solutions for vehicle products.
  • Manage diverse team and provides leadership for the team to meet its short and long term goals.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables.
  • Develop and control the schedule and direct the work in order to effectively manage time.
  • Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across other CoE's.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for reliability & safety engineers. Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments.
  • Manages department budget and performance to forecast.
  • Champion deployment of DFSS, DMAIC and Reliability/Safety practitioner program at EIIC. Drive Functional excellence through Continuous improvement using CI methodology
  • Understand stakeholder requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's in mechanical/electrical/electronics with min 10 years relevant work exp or Master's Degree (prefer) in Reliability Engineering min 7 years relevant work experience or PhD (prefer)with min 3-5 years relevant work experience. ASQ CRE certification,functional safety certification(Level1) is prefered.

Work experience in the area of Automotive system/components reliability and safety assessment

Skills

Proficiency in DFR process like goal setting, allocation, prediction, demonstration (life data analysis, growth plots & ALT). Skilled in the areas of reliability statistics, FTA/FMEA, 8D, developing & analyzing component failure rates,physics based life modelling. Knowledge in FRACAS, and reducing field/warranty data into relevant life and failure rate information, automotive functional safety, ISO26262 complaince standard.Hands-on experience in developing and analyzing reliability (endurance and durability) from demo test for systems. Experience with any industry proven reliability analysis suite of tools, Reliasoft preferred

Problem solving, Creativity, Digital mindset,Process Management and Innovation

Experience with any industry proven reliability & safety analysis suite of tools

Preferred: DFSS GB certified from reputed organization etc.
