Job description

Primary Responsibilies

What success looks like in this role:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on data privacy matters in China, India, and the Asia Pacific region.
  • Provide high-quality, relevant and timely privacy advice to all aspects of the business.
  • Negotiate data protection contracts and respond to privacy-related RFP questions.
  • Conduct data privacy reviews of new and emerging solutions.
  • Draft policies, procedures, and templates. Review and revise documents drafted by others.
  • Work with Global Procurement and vendors on vendor risk assessments.
  • Maintain and analyze Privacy-related metrics.
  • Develop records of processing.
  • Support Global Privacy Operations.
  • Lead and support other projects as requested.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Depending on skillset and at the request of the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Global Head of Employment Law and Chief Privacy Officer, the individual may provide employment law advice.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of data privacy laws, regulations, and best practices a must; some employment law experience is a plus.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and influencing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines within a changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively and appropriately with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently; exercise good judgment in determining when to consult management, colleagues, and clients in high pressure, fast paced environment.
  • Team player: flexible, active listener, effective communication, collaborative and positive attitude.
  • Strong integrity and high ethical standards.
  • Driven to champion and live diversity, inclusion and equity in all you do.
  • High proficiency in English, with the ability to read, write, speak and present with confidence to varying senior levels of our Global organization.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Masters of Law
  • Required: Bachelors
