The Head of GES HR is a key member of the GES leadership team and the HRE Leadership team. The position brings in strategic alignment between the priorities of the HR function and the GBS Global Strategy. This position had the overall accountability of providing HR services that has an impact on all employees (approx. 30k) of the company across the globe. GES provides shared services to dsm-firmenich globally in the areas of Finance, HR, IT and Procurement. The goal of GES is to help all internal customer to improve their business by offering best-in class services with the highest cost efficiencies.
As the Head of GES HR and an essential member of our Global Leadership Team within the Shared Services Organization, the purpose is to lead, innovate, and optimize the human resources operations on a global scale. The role is pivotal in shaping our HR strategies, fostering a culture of engagement, talent development, and employee satisfaction, all while actively contributing to the organization's overall success and growth.
GES HR was set up to enable the global HR function to focus on their strategic priorities whilst HRSS delivered the core procurement transactional services and identify opportunities to move from transactional activities to tactical and strategic service offerings. These services were underpinned by a focus on customer interaction, high quality operational efficiency and highly motivated professional employees. It is globally the single provider of core HR transactional /tactical services within dsm- firmenich supported by standard processes. In total, approximately 150 employees are part of HRSS. HRSS is responsible for providing stable HR services across the globe while continuing to focus on multiple global regional initiatives.
The main lines of service services are -: Global payroll services Global Total Rewards Administration HRMS administration and support Run, Maintenance and support of HR systems and processed globally Support in Annual HR processes - Goal setting, Talent Review, APR and ACR Organization Management Reporting and Analytics Talent Suite Administration - Learning and Performance HR Contract and Vendor Management - Global Service Desk Tier 2 and Tier 3 support Fleet Management Employee Onboarding end to end & Global Survey Management.

Your key responsibilities:
Strategic
Define and execute the GES HR short, mid-term and long-term strategy. Accountable for contributing to the GES strategy to enhance cost efficiencies and optimize location synergies. Maintain strong business relationships with all stakeholders (internal/ external customer groups, peers, seniors, at all levels of the organization.). Actively contribute to the GES LT, and the HRE Leadership Team.
Contribute to the development of the dsm-firmenich Global HR Strategy and drive alignment between the HRLT and the GES LT. Design, develop, implement, and maintain relevant HR systems and processes.
Operational
Set and meet all operational goals and deliver on agreed annual operating plan.Agree on and set GES HR Service Levels (SLA's) with all internal customers globally and ensure they are met.
Employ strategies to ensure the organization operates using lean principles and continuously improves. Prove the GES leadership with appropriate analytical and reporting means that will ensure meaningful decision support for senior management.
Provide direction for developing, applying, and evaluating policies and procedures as necessary. Manage, produce, control and report on the 15-million-euro GES HR P&L and budget. Ensure effective cost control and value for money and suggests & drive cost reduction opportunities.
Define governance structure and practices that ensure compliance with all corporate policies and ensure internal controls are very high level to mitigate potential risks. Observe the SHE regulations and fulfil the warning function when regulations are not met or when a dangerous situation occurs.
People related.
Oversee hiring for key leadership roles within GES HR and ensure adequately skilled resources within GES HR. Develop employees to ensure they have the appropriate skills to provide high quality service and support.
Manage 150+ employees in GES HR, spread over 6 different locations (Netherlands, Switzerland, USA, Brazil, India, and China).

You bring:
20+ years of experience in service delivery with a global shared service environment.
Delivery experience in all or multiple streams of the following: HR Operations, HR Shared Services, Global Payroll Services, Learning and Performance Management.
Experience of leading teams (for 100+ headcount) across different cultures and time zones.
Experience in large matrix, multi-cultural organizations. Proven experience in delivering services to a widespread, multi-functional global customer base. Experience within a complex matrix organization is a plus. Strong academic background. MBA in HR or other relevant post graduate degree from a recognized institution.
