Job Description: 3D Generalist
We don't have just designers, copywriters, product designers, illustrators, and 3D artists, we have 'thinkers'. Your job will not be to get from point A to point B, it would be about how interesting you can make that journey. Work with a group of fun individuals who work hard, and play harder.
Responsibilities:
- 3D Modeling and Texturing: Create and modify 3D assets, textures, and materials for use in Unreal Engine to build visually stunning environments.
- Environment Design: Collaborate with the art and design teams to craft engaging and captivating game environments, taking into account gameplay and narrative requirements.
- Unreal Engine Expertise: Leverage your in-depth knowledge of Unreal Engine to implement, optimize, and troubleshoot 3D assets within the engine.
- Scene Composition: Develop and assemble 3D scenes, ensuring they align with the artistic vision and technical specifications of the project.
- Lighting and Shading: Set up realistic lighting, shaders, and post-processing effects to enhance the visual quality and mood of the environments.
- Optimization: Optimize 3D assets and scenes for performance, ensuring smooth gameplay experiences on various platforms.
- Asset Integration: Import, organize, and maintain 3D assets within Unreal Engine, maintaining an efficient and organized project structure.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical and creative challenges that arise during the development process.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including artists, designers, programmers, and producers, to ensure the successful implementation of 3D assets and scenes.
- Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and Unreal Engine updates to ensure the application of cutting-edge techniques.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a 3D Generalist, with a strong portfolio showcasing environment design work in Unreal Engine.
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine, including blueprint scripting and material creation.
- Strong 3D modeling and texturing skills, with expertise in software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
- Knowledge of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows and an understanding of industry-standard shaders and materials.
- Familiarity with level design principles and gameplay considerations.
- Solid understanding of lighting and post-processing effects in Unreal Engine.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical and creative issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and maintain a structured project workflow.
- Passion for gaming and virtual reality, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
