We are currently seeking an Associate Cloud Architect who combines solid technical credentials and experience with a high degree of business acumen for a position within our Service Architecture team in Platform Engineering group. In this role, you will collaborate with technology peers and business partners to build and deploy the foundation for the next generation of modern cloud native software applications and services for Thomson Reuters.
As part of the Platform Engineering organization, you will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, energetic, and high performing team at the heart of the Thomson Reuters transformation to developing cloud native applications and services. This group is nimble, creative and shapes our technology roadmap. This role will be instrumental to enabling the current and future world of cloud computing at Thomson Reuters. You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of concepts to delivery against existing and future needs of our customers.
About The Role In this opportunity as Associate Cloud Architect, you will:
- Creates and oversees the architectural design of small to medium sized projects in cloud landing zones (AWS/Azure/OCI/GCP) consistent with long term Platform Engineering strategy.
- Partners with peer architects on large projects to provide ongoing architecture oversight throughout the development lifecycle, after the overall architecture has been developed and communicated.
- Communicates solutions, technical designs through formal and informal means to business unit executives, technology management, peers and development staff, and other colleagues.
- Partners with project manager(s) to incorporate technical dimension to project status reports and communicates timely and accurate status information to project leaders.
- Evaluates and recommends emerging trends in software design and development strategies and evaluate their use in the development environment.
About You You're a fit for the role of Associate Cloud Architect if your background includes:
- 10+ years of software development / architecture experience.
- Experience in at least 1 public cloud provider (AWS/Azure/OCI/GCP).
- Experience in owning and delivering a project throughout a complete software development life cycle.
- Experience in Python.
- Experience in automations and infrastructure as a code (CloudFormation / CDK / Terraform / etc.).
- Experience in working with third party vendors (e.g. vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, feature requests, service adoptions, etc.).

About The Role In this opportunity as Specialist Editor you will:
- Design, develop, and update unique audit and accounting solutions relied upon by auditing professionals in accounting firms throughout the U.K. and globally.
- Show direction on electronic tools that provide practical, step-by-step instruction for our customers and optimise customer retention rates.
- Apply technical expertise and exercise professional discernment in identifying significant audit issues and practice problems and providing practical guidance and practice insights.
- Contribute oversight for the efforts of other project team members, including outside authors and in-house content operations and software development personnel to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with in-house customer service, tech support, and sales to bridge the gap so customers' needs are properly identified and supported.
- Communicate with customers (chartered accountants in public practice) to resolve their needs and ensure that our products are responsive to those needs.
- Assist with strategic development projects as requested.
About You You're a fit for the role of Specialist Editor if you have:
- A chartered accountant qualification.
- At least 5 years of practical experience (preferably as a Manager or Senior Manager in an audit practice), with experience auditing unlisted companies and charities preferred.
- Broad-based technical knowledge of international and UK accounting and auditing standards and strong technical research skills.
- The ability to execute assignments in a timely, competent manner, and identify update features, practical insights, and other improvements to our products.
