Job description
Job Description: • Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL. • Solid understanding of database architecture, design, and best practices. • Strong knowledge of SQL and database scripting. • Experience in database performance tuning and optimization. • Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies for Oracle RDBMS and PostgreSQL. • Database Installation and Configuration: • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL database software. • Ensure proper setup and configuration for optimal performance. • Performance Monitoring and Tuning: • Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance issues. • Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization activities. • Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies for both Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. • Perform regular backup validations to ensure data integrity. • Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the databases. • Manage user access and permissions, ensuring compliance with security policies. • Plan and execute database upgrades and patching for both Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. • Stay informed about the latest updates and security patches. • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: • Investigate and resolve database-related issues promptly. • Provide on-call support as needed. • Collaborate with development and IT teams to understand database requirements. • Document database architecture, configurations, and procedures. • Conduct capacity planning and recommend improvements based on future growth. • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Oracle and PostgreSQL certifications are a plus.
