Overview

Avalara is seeking a visionary and results-driven Proposal Desk Manager to establish and lead a dynamic Proposal Desk team tasked with transforming complex deal order forms into branded proposals that illustrate solution value through market data, ROI and risk mitigation results. As the driving force behind the creation and optimization of our proposal process, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our sales operations. We are looking for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in software sales and a passion for building high-performing teams in Pune that produce consistent and repeatable results and documents.


Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Building:  Build and lead a high-performing Proposal Desk team of 3-4 responsible for creating value driven proposals with high volume and velocity.  Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

 

Process and Department Development:  Design and implement end-to-end proposal processes, from initial request through delivery, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness and consistent quality.  Establish and optimize the Proposal Desk department, defining roles, responsibilities, and workflows.  Establish partnerships with product marketing, sales and revenue operations to ensure seamless proposal flow.  Build a series of KPIs and measurement tools to ensure employee performance and sales SLA adherence.

 

Strategic Planning:  Develop a strategic vision for the Proposal Desk, aligning with Avalara's business goals and sales objectives.  Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business needs and incorporate them into the proposal process.

 

Technology Integration:  Identify and implement best-in-class proposal management tools and technologies to enhance productivity and streamline workflows.  Salesforce, Loopio, CPQ and Highspot are crucial.  Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to ensure the Proposal Desk remains at the forefront of technology.

 

Training and Development:  Provide training and mentorship to team members, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.  Establish a continuous learning environment to keep the team informed about industry trends and proposal best practices.
