Job description
Role Summary
We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic Assistant Engineer to join the ‘UK iCRC
Highway’ team in Noida/Bengaluru to work alongside our UK discipline.
The successful candidate will be working in a team environment to develop and deliver projects
through various stages of design from feasibility to planning/detailed design and onto construction.
Responsibilities
- You will be working and supporting a range of highways schemes.
- You will be working closely with the lead design engineer or work package manager to develop design solutions in accordance with the relevant standards.
- You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and to be active on several projects at any given time.
- You will be contributing to all types of projects.
- You will be using AutoCAD and other design software for the production and development of designs and drawings.
- You will read and adher to all relevant policies and procedures for Health and Safety including the H&S Policy, H&S Manual, and Local Procedures Manual.
Key Competencies / Skills:
Mandatory Skills
- You should be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of relevant design standards.
- You will be able to use the relevant design software such as Civil 3D, Open Roads, MX, PDS/Key Line and Sign, AutoCAD and ProjectWise.
- Proficient in use of standard office software
- Confidence to seek clarification of instructions and work scope
- Able to liaise as necessary with the UK project team to deliver the schemes/projects
- You will be quick to pick up new ideas and skills, and be able to think laterally to generate new solutions to problems.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills
- Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW)
- Ability to support production of technical specifications and reports
Qualifications
- You will have a bachelor’s or post-graduate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with 2-4 years post-graduate experience in highway design
- Working towards a recognised professional qualification
Skills Required : Civil 3D, Open Roads, MX, PDS/Key Line and Sign, AutoCAD and ProjectWise.
