Job description

We are looking for DevOps Engineers who will be able exhibit their technology skills & influence team members to increase the overall productivity & effectiveness by sharing your indepth knowledge on Cloud & DevOps. You will be leading and contributing to the define the industry standard best practices of Cloud & DevOps to the team to follow. What will you do :

• Own the quality of Cloud and DevOps architecture design and delivery of the client engagement
  

• You would be designing the automation of the Cloud & DevOps operations/process with proper tools.
  

• Advice on implementing Cloud & DevOps best practices and provide architectural and design support to the team.
  

• Functionally split the complex issues or problems into much simpler and straightforward solutions for the engineers in the team to execute.
  

• To assist in the technical and design meetings with clients to help them in adoption of Cloud & DevOps tools and technologies practice.
  

• Take ownership of the endtoend development & implementation quality of the team by managing dependencies and focusing on technology best practices.
  

What we are looking for :

• 3 years of handson experience as a DevOps & Cloud.
  

• A person who has experience in assisting/helping to design and develop Cloud & DevOps practices on one or more cloud platform ( AWS Azure )
  

• Must be an expert in implementing CI & CD pipeline with various DevOps tool sets. Should be able to evaluate implement and streamline the DevOps practices for the clients thereby speeding up the software development and deployment process.
  

• Handson experience with CI & CD tools(like Jenkins SonarQube Artifactory/Nexus )
  

• Source Control (like Git Bitbucket Github Gitlab/SVN etc.)
  

• Experience in creating continuous delivery practices by using Terraform/ARM Templates/Cloud Formation.
  

• Must possess excellent knowledge of infrastructure configuration & automation tools (like Ansible ) in both development and production environments
  

• Should possess the experience in designing & building applications using container & serverless technologies.
  

• Kubernetes expertise is a must have and knowledge on Service Mesh Tracing Helm Charts etc would be an added advantage.
  

• Must have strong expertise in operating Linux environments and scripting languages like Shell .
  

• Good presentation and communications skills.
  

• Be willing to be challenged and learn new skills.
  

• Finally and most importantly to lead and grow your team by example.

Role Summary: The Systems Engineering I for Chef Automation and Linux support is an individual contributor role and the person is expected to Deliver automation via Chef cookbook and good understanding for Linux operating systems along with basic understanding of Windows Operating system to support the Public, Private Cloud and data center platforms and expected to adhere to the shift pattern. Systems Engineering is a core capability for this technology, and this position is critical for shaping the engineering culture as we grow. The role will be serving as a core member of an agile team that supports the Cloud and datacenter OS Platform Availability and future automations. Role: As a Systems Engineer I for Chef Automation and Linux, Discover and implement new technologies that improve functionality, availability, cost efficiency, and security for Infrastructure Platforms. Collaborate with other teams across all of Technology and vendors to ensure service and project delivery. Drive Service Improvements with operations engineering and bring operational excellence. Define & amp; implement simple management summary from complex technical topics and drive logical decisions at all levels. Contribute in other automation initiatives. Technology Skills: Strong understanding of Chef and cookbooks development, Chef Policies. Chef Inspec & Chef Automate. Very good understanding of Linux Fundamentals and Internals Basic understanding of Windows Operating systems. Programming knowledge in Shell, ruby & should have worked on automating daily tasks Familiarity with system security implementation Familiarity with enterprise monitoring systems, ticketing & Change Management systems Strong written and verbal communications along with strong technical documentation skills Additional Technical skills: Hands-on knowledge of Jenkins, GIT, GIT Action, Packer Basic understanding of Virtualization platform like VMWare, Azure would be added advantage. Behavioural Skill: Self-motivated. Ability to learn new technologies on own Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to participate and contribute during crisis times, assist team members/leads, as needed Show adaptability and flexibility in work to suit business requirements. Be flexible with respect to work requirements and timings. Should be ready to work in 24x7 kind of shifts based on business requirements Demonstrate ownership and responsibility in all assignments Build positive working relationship with customers with the intention to exceed their expectations Qualifications: Graduation/Post Graduation. Minimum 3-6 years of technology experience Experience with ITIL Processes of Incidents, Problem and Change Management Following certifications are a huge plus Chef ITIL v3 Foundation
