GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
Manage Actuarial functions across US and Canada market with span of 50+ colleagues, responsible for managing Actuarial Pricing and Reserving processes, quality & effectiveness of end-to-end deliverables for both internal & external stakeholders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (List 6-10 major responsibilities in the role):
- Managing Reserving & Pricing teams and their SLAs on ongoing basis
- Project Management – Manage projects end to end with focus on Quality of Delivery and Process Efficiency. Track and control project timelines, resource allocation, identify and mitigate risks, and accountable for communication management
- Understands technical topics beyond just knowing what they are and able to make reasonable interpretations of how they apply to various valuations.
- May have developed unique expertise in a particular area (for example, extensive experience high complex valuations on big client) and therefore can become the “go to” person as a “doer” in that area.
- Good leave management by keeping business requirement in mind so that impact would be minimal on client work. And also guide junior colleagues in their leaves planning.
- Motivating managers, focus on team engagement and Leading by example.
- Offshore lead for one of the biggest client valuations
- Prioritizes projects and team concerns with limited assistance
- Initiates most valuations without prompting; begins to understand scope, timeline, and deliverables
- Makes sure all colleagues are utilized as per their skill set and experience
- Active participation in the weekly manager meetings and effectively communicates concerns with the management
- Builds knowledge of valuations and interprets results
- Solid relationships developing with more day- to-day communication
Strong working knowledge of client’s valuation
- Act as an escalation point for all the team members' client deliverables
- Able to test for errors and reasonability
- Learns to check work performed by others
- Takes the responsibility of team’s performance metrics, retention and engagement

Should be able to provide feedback for project teams for their performance to their reporting manager.
