Job Purpose
The New York Stock Exchange, a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) presents an opportunity for a full-time DevOps Engineer to join a team responsible for state-of-the-art Surveillance system running on AWS cloud and to work with cutting-edge technology and business in the financial sector.
This position requires technical proficiency/problem solving as well as an eager attitude, professionalism, and solid communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, modify, and maintain highly scalable and fault-tolerant AMAZON WEB SERVICES (AWS) infrastructure
- Interact with development teams to help implement optimized AMAZON WEB SERVICES (AWS) setup
- Maintain different environments for multiple engineering teams with emphasis towards automation
- Research, identify, and implement best practices for AMAZON WEB SERVICES (AWS)
- Define, document, and conduct trainings on cloud infrastructure
- Troubleshoot application issues and report technical findings to engineering teams
Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in AMAZON WEB SERVICES (AWS) platform.
- 3+ years of experience in setup, deployment and management of systems provisioning and configuration management frameworks such as Puppet, Chef, Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
- 3+ years of experience with the Linux command line, shell scripting, automation of common tasks, and configuration of system monitoring tools.
- 3+ years of experience in Python and BASH.
- Knowledge and experience of automation scripts for provisioning and auto-scaling of infrastructure
- Knowledge of Integrated monitoring tools: Datadog, New-relic, Splunk etc.
- Experience of ETL pipelines and usage of Airflow is a plus
- Experience working in a continuous integration environment
- Solid understanding of Agile development lifecycle
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Stay up-to-date on all current and future AMAZON WEB SERVICES (AWS) services and tools and provide guidance and evangelism on how best to make use of cloud infrastructure to support company growth
- Possess expert-level understanding of Git and software revision control and code deployment best practices; proven ability to design and develop automated code deployment scripts
- Ensure accessibility, security, reliability, availability, and performance of infrastructure
- Able to evangelize a DevOps culture of automation, self-service, and engineering best practices to enable development teams to go from development to production with a minimum effort
- AMAZON WEB SERVICES (AWS) Certification is a plus
