Job description
Responsibilities:
Utilize AutoCAD and Creo software to create detailed 2D and 3D designs of furniture products, considering manufacturing feasibility, functionality, and aesthetic requirements.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to translate product concepts and specifications into manufacturable designs, ensuring adherence to design intent and quality standards.
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, material selection, and tooling requirements, based on CAD models and design considerations.
Create and maintain engineering documentation, including technical drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and work instructions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to select appropriate materials, components, and finishes for furniture production, considering cost, availability, and quality requirements.
Conduct design reviews and feasibility assessments to identify potential manufacturing challenges or design improvements, proposing solutions and modifications as necessary.
Collaborate with production and operations teams to implement CAD-based process improvements, such as automation, tooling enhancements, and workflow optimizations.
Generate prototypes and conduct testing and validation to verify design integrity, functionality, and manufacturability.
Monitor and analyze production data, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, waste minimization, and process optimization.
Collaborate with production staff to provide technical guidance and support, ensuring efficient implementation of CAD-based designs and processes.
Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in furniture design and manufacturing, incorporating relevant innovations into production processes.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines and promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment.
Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement, quality enhancement, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Production Engineer or similar role in the furniture manufacturing industry.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Creo software for 2D and 3D modeling and design.
Strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes, techniques, and materials.
Familiarity with manufacturing process optimization methodologies (such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve design and production-related issues.
Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing methods in the furniture industry.
Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices within the manufacturing industry.
Experience with quality management systems and adherence to quality standards.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity software.
