Job description
Job brief for Interior Designer
Varija Home is looking an interior designer with at least 5-8 years of experience. Having knowledge
in Vendor management, Autocad, 3D design, material and local market knowledge. Apart from that
site experience will be added advantage for us. Strong verbal and written communication skills in
English should. Candidate should be responsible for the overall interior work and have a sound
knowledge about all major phase of Planning, Concept Development, Design Development,
Construction Documentation and Execution till completion the project.
Designs interior spaces in new and renovated buildings, meet functional and aesthetic goals,
researchers and purchases furnishings and fittings, and establishes a corporate or individual client
base.
Responsibilities
Meeting with clients and other trades’ people such as architects or builders to discuss the needs
of the client.
Researching and preparing plans, diagrams or sketches for interior constructions, materials,
finishes, lighting and furnishing.
Inspecting and supervising the work of trades’ people to ensure that quality and safety
standards, costs and deadlines are met.
Developing designs according to a brief that is functional, appealing and appropriate for space.
Estimating costs, take approval from management and submitting quotes to the client for
approval.
Selecting suppliers of materials and labour in the local market.
Produces sketches, drawings, and floor plans to illustrate concepts and finished projects using
AutoCAD and hand-drawing skills.
Creates idea boards to communicate design concepts to clients.
Selects design strategies and colour palettes to create cohesive and aesthetically pleasing
environments.
Negotiation skills and use it with labour and purchase materials.
Maintains relationships with vendors and outside contractors, and hires out work as necessary
Update all site latest status with management on daily basis.
Deal with all issues that arise from staff, labour and customers (complaints, grievances etc.)
Be a shining example of good behaviour and high performance
Requirements
5-8 year of experience as an interior designer
Good communication, interpersonal skills and strong communication skills in English, both verbal
and written
Good hands-on experience in MS –Office and using design software (such as AutoCAD) to create
models and visuals.
Effective knowledge of Vendor management.
Knowledge about all major interior phase like Planning, Concept Development, Design
Development, Construction Documentation and Execution.
