Job description

Title: Specialist – Environment

Location: Bengaluru, India

Need for the Role: As organization embarks on an ambitious journey, there is a need for team members

who will focus on designing and grounding campaigns for organization which are extremely forward

looking by anticipating community needs, adhering to financial / governance compliances, relevance

to SDGs and ESGs goals. These campaigns must have the potential to become flagship campaigns

contributing to over 50% of the fund raising at organization in the next 24 months... FY 22-23, 23-24.

Role Description:

Specialist – Environment be responsible for conceptualisation, designing and preparing clear

implementation plans for new Campaigns and Projects in the Environment Thematic Area. The

specialist will also be responsible for establishing relationship and networking with different

stakeholders and capacity building of the implementation team to execute the projects.

Responsibilities:

Conceptualization, designing of projects and campaigns

i) Draft new concepts with implementation design and present to the senior leadership

team for further pitching for funds

ii) Designing long term, scalable campaigns under Environment space with potential for

becoming flagship campaign for organization.

iii) Mapping of Government and civil society stakeholders who could be potential partners

in execution of the projects and campaigns under the vertical

iv) Identify and onboard consultants for the design, content creation and/or execution of

the project.

v) Participate in all the team cadences and provide continuous support and guidance for

the implementation team to execute the projects with quality

vi) Lead the execution of campaigns, specific to grounding the first intervention through the

projects team and guide them to scale it. Also to ensure proper documentation and

create play books of the campaigns.

vii) Support the RM team with documents related to pitching of the projects with donors

and take part in the conversations with potential donors for concept explanations as

required as and when requested.

Documentation – Case studies and external communications

i) Work with the M&E team to design clear strategies for monitoring and evaluation and

support in the execution of the strategies on the ground.

ii) Undertake periodical field visits and identify potential stories that can be made public

from an impact and external communication perspective

iii) Undertake frequent monitoring visits to all the campaign / project implementation

locations and suggest corrective measures if any to the project team in the cadences or

at site.

iv) Work with Marcom team and help design relevant external communications.

Capacity building of the teams, inter-vertical collaborations and Government relationships

i) Lead the process of designing a capacity building calendar with topics for the vertical

and also for the other teams in organization as required.

ii) Identify external speakers or organisations to lead sessions on different topics for the

larger team of organization under the education, skilling and livelihood sectors.

iii) Strengthen the Government relationships to ensure visibility, timely approvals and

effective convergence as relevant to the projects and campaigns.

Selection Criteria

Experience - At least 15 years of work experience

- At least 10 years of experience in the social sector at mid-leadership level in

Environment thematic areas.

Education Post Graduation/Masters

Any Specialization with Environment studies

Languages needed English, Hindi (any other regional languages)
