Job description
Position Overview:
The Shift Manager plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth functioning during their designated shifts. They are responsible for overseeing staff performance, maintaining high-quality service standards, and managing customer satisfaction. The Shift Manager reports to the General Manager and collaborates closely with other team members to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and motivate staff members to perform at their best during the shift.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure adherence to job responsibilities.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
- Provide coaching and training to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Operational Management:
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and sanitation standards.
- Oversee the opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reconciliation.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Customer Service:
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and ensure exceptional customer experiences.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Monitor service quality, speed, and accuracy to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding hospitality and personalized service.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety standards are upheld.
- Monitor food preparation and presentation to guarantee consistency and quality.
- Implement corrective actions and follow-up procedures to address any deficiencies.
- Financial Management:
- Assist in controlling operational costs and maximizing profitability.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Manage labor scheduling to optimize staffing levels while controlling expenses.
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to attract customers.
