Job Description Summary
The Lead Project Planner drives excellence in project planning, scheduling, and resource management to support the on-time and on-budget delivery of project solutions for our customers, from proposal development through project completion.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provide functional expertise and leadership in project planning and scheduling
- Develop project schedules using established tools, processes, and standards
- Ensure resources are assigned and available to execute project work in accordance with the plan
- Maintain project schedules to accurately reflect work progress and remaining work
- Analyze project progress and schedule performance
- Identify variances from plan, risks, and emerging trends that may signal concern
- Drive recovery and acceleration plans as needed
- Report and review schedule progress, regularly, with the project team
- Escalate issues or risks that have not been properly addressed
- Ensure clear alignment between cost and schedule
- Analyze the impact of change orders on schedule performance
- Provide contractually required customer reports
- Develop reference schedules for common solutions to streamline the schedule creation process
- Provide accurate and timely performance reports to senior management
- Support continuous improvement and transformative innovation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 8 years of Project Management or Project Planning experience
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in project planning and scheduling, and earned value analysis
- Experience with Primavera P6
- Strategic thinker with a track record for developing innovative solutions to difficult problems
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
