Supplier Quality Engineer for Pulp and Energy Business Line (based in Chennai, India)
Are you the enthusiastic, self-driven and result-oriented professional who wants to move our customer's performance forward We are looking for 'Supplier Quality Engineer' to be based in Chennai, India. This position reports to 'Head, India Supply Center'. In this position you will have to perform both Inspection and Expediting at Supplier location for various assigned projects What you will do at Valmet: Plan & Execute physical Quality Inspection cum expediting at supplier location as per approved ITP and according to established processes and checklists Expedite (both Desk & field) Manufacturing activities at supplier location as per the agreed schedule and take corrective action for delays to comply with Valmet Contract Requirement. Liaise with Buyer, Project Procurement Manager, Engineering, Project Manager, Customer Applications and other internal stake holders with respect to Inspection and Expediting activities Prepare Delivery Supervision Report/ Inspection Reports/ IRN, etc., as per the requirement and store according to established processes after communicating with stake holders. Update & follow Supply Plan during execution as per Supervision degree. Create Non-conformity reports (NCR's) when issues are discovered, update in Spotlight/ System and jointly work for correction and corrective action till closure of the same. Supplier claim if any to be initiated based on issued NCR/ Deviations. Take ownership and resolve site queries, complaints take necessary corrective action. Participate in review meetings with supplier and customer. Handle Third Party Inspection agencies and monitor their activities. Provide supplier development feedback after inspections. Provide input for supplier performance management after inspections Conduct lessons learnt meeting and take preventive action Follow business process defined in Direction Handbook Adhering to company's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) procedures Adhering to company's Values, Business principles and Code of conduct To succeed this role, you will need: Bachelor's degree at Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. Skills - ASNT Level 2 in RT, UT, MT, PT as minimum Knowledge in Fabrication, Machining, Assembly and welding Knowledge in International codes Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
