Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Android developer for the development and maintenance of an Android app aimed at drone pilots to execute drone flights. The application will have to be intuitive, robust and work offline. You will be working alongside other mobile and web developers on the DMO team. Drone Mission Ops (DMO): A full-stack drone flight solution that enables drone service providers, pilots, and enterprises to execute fast, accurate, and seamless drone missions Responsibilities Core Functions Build, maintain and push the Android app to the Google Play store. Understand business requirements and break them down into technical requirements. Translate the technical requirements into high-quality code. Coordinate with other teams to build and manage the app. Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of the application. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to improve development efficiency. Guide and mentor other members of the Android team. Key Competencies/Skills Mandatory Skills Hands-on experience in developing Android apps using Kotlin. Experience with networking APIs and frameworks like Retrofit, Ok GSON, etc. Experience with offline storage, threading, and performing benchmarking and tuning. Well-versed with the latest Android libraries (AndroidX, Coroutines, ViewModels, etc). Understanding of Google's Material design principles and interface guidelines. Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools like Git. Required to have strong skills in developing concise, clear technical documentation, such as API specifications and user guides, vital for project clarity and team collaboration. Desired Skills Experience with the Mapbox Android SDK or any other mapping libraries. Experience with Google Play console and publishing apps on the Play Store. Experience working with Hardware SDKs like Drone SDKs (DJI Mobile SDK) Qualifications 2-4 years of experience in the above-mentioned technologies in a similar role with the demonstration of a good track record.Job tags
