Job description
Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain data warehouse solutions to support business reporting, analytics, and decision-making processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, data sources, and user needs, translating them into effective data warehouse solutions. Develop and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to efficiently extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses or data marts. Create and manage data models, schemas, and dimensional structures to facilitate reporting and analytics requirements, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Monitor and optimize data warehouse performance, scalability, and reliability, identifying and addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies as needed. Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights through the data warehouse platform. Document and communicate data warehouse architecture, design decisions, and best practices to ensure clarity and consistency across the organization. Stay updated on emerging data warehousing technologies, trends, and best practices, continuously improving and enhancing data warehouse capabilities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Proven experience as a data warehouse developer or ETL developer, with a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies. Proficiency in SQL and relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), with experience in writing complex queries and optimizing database performance. Experience with ETL tools and processes for data integration and transformation, including designing and implementing ETL workflows. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data governance principles. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Skills: Data Warehousing: Designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse solutions to support business needs. ETL Development: Building and optimizing ETL processes for data integration and transformation. SQL: Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data in relational databases. Dimensional Modeling: Designing and implementing data models and schemas for data warehouses. Preferred: Certification in data warehousing or ETL tools, demonstrating expertise in industry-standard practices and technologies. Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouse solutions such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake. Experience with modern ETL tools and technologies such as Apache NiFi, Talend, or Informatica. Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting for automating ETL processes.
