Job description
Role purpose : As a Cloud Architect at Vodafone, your leadership within Cloud Engineering will be pivotal to the successful delivery of our TaaS (Telco-as-a-Service) strategy. This strategy aims to bring our engineers together from across the globe to create a catalogue of reusable engineering capabilities in a completely self-service manner. As a part of the Cloud Engineering team, your responsibility will be to design, deliver and keep up to date architecture roadmaps, blueprints, standards and guardrails for the TaaS umbrella, including a shared cloud engineering platform which hosts multitenant cloud native applications, and an inner sourcing capability.
Your deep technical knowledge will be what sets you apart and will enable you to shape the future of Vodafone’s global cloud infrastructure. Your fine-tuned experience architecting cloud platforms will allow you to innovate effectively, lead the implementation of superior multitenant cloud native service hosting capabilities that enable sustainable scalability. Your proven experience of SLOs and CI/CD enforcements will also play a role in your delivery of innovation, as it will enable you to easily identify and consult on the need for change to improve reliability, velocity and ultimately drive platform adoption at scale. Core competencies, knowledge, and experience Extensive experience in designing complex, distributed, secure and scalable architecture solutions based on cloud computing (AWS, GCP) deployed via infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) using DevSecOps to host cloud native applications and API integrations. Proven experience of conducting technical workshop, presenting technical solutions, preparing architecture guidelines and technical strategy documents. You will have a proactive and systematic attitude to problem-solving: looking to find areas of improvement and performance bottlenecks Highly energetic, with a 'can-do' attitude and courageous lateral thinking Very good analytical, consultative and problem-solving mind-set, and an influential personality capable of quickly building rapport and credibility with teams. Excellent communication skills in an international distributed team. Capacity to learn and work independently. Experience working in agile teams. Must have technical skills: Technical leadership and hands on experience in architecting and deploying AWS or GCP, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation), DevSecOps toolchains and/or API gateways. Related qualification or proven experience in cloud engineering platforms related technology Experience in application architecture and hands-on development.
