Job Title: SQL DBA Lead

Job Overview:

As a SQL DBA Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's SQL Server databases. Your role will involve leading a team of database administrators, collaborating with other IT teams, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the SQL Server environment. Key Responsibilities: 1.

Database Administration: · Manage and administer SQL Server databases across multiple environments (development, testing, production). · Install, configure, and maintain database software and related tools. · Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations. · Monitor database performance and proactively optimize queries and configurations for improved efficiency. · Implement and maintain database security policies, including access controls, encryption, and auditing. · Ensure data integrity, availability, and disaster recovery strategies. 2.

Team Leadership: · Lead a team of SQL Database Administrators, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. · Assign tasks and projects, and monitor progress to ensure timely and quality delivery. · Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and identify training needs for team members. · Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the team. · Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance to team members. 3.

Collaboration and Communication: · Collaborate with other IT teams, including developers, network administrators, and system administrators, to ensure seamless integration and operation of database systems. · Communicate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. · Provide regular updates, reports, and presentations to management and stakeholders on database performance, projects, and initiatives. 4.

Best Practices and Continuous Improvement: · Establish and enforce best practices for database administration, including backup and recovery, maintenance, and performance tuning. · Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in database management. · Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and cost optimizations. · Lead initiatives to implement new technologies or methodologies to enhance database operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Several years of experience in SQL Server database administration, including experience with SQL Server versions (20XX). Strong leadership skills with experience leading and mentoring a team.
