Job description
The Analyst is part of the front line function within Market Data and is responsible for meeting the deliverables of the group to both internal and external clients. The Analyst reports to the AVP / Supervisor and will be required to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of accounting, security master and data processing. The successful candidate will have the ability to follow processes and have a fundamental understanding of complex financial instruments. As a member of this team, the Analyst is responsible for management of all aspects of automating and processing this data. The Analyst is expected to have knowledge of Hedge funds, accounting and its associated financial instruments. This team is expected to be able to resolve data issues based on an understanding of the overall lifecycle of a trade.
Main Job Functions/Tasks :
- Troubleshoot daily issues that arise regarding vendor data and xeo s application of that data
- Analyze and correct anomalies in both vendor provided data as well as broker and client data
- Recognize patterns of issues and create requests to the IT staff for solutions
- Gather requirements from clients and work with development on projects relating to market and instrument data, particularly new instruments coming to market
About You:
- Bachelor or master level degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or other relevant professional designation (CFA, CGA, CMA, CA, CPA);
- 1-3 years experience in Financial Services with an exposure to operations and Market Data
- Product knowledge in the following: US, Global, Fixed Income, commodities and derivatives
- Familiarity with Bloomberg and/or Reuters terminals and bulk reference data
- Good problem solving skills. Candidates need to understand root cause of problems highlighted by internal teams and address accordingly
- Experience with Market Data is preferred with understanding of security masters and pricing masters.
