Overview:
As a Mason at our organization you will play a crucial role in constructing and repairing structures using various building materials such as bricks concrete blocks and natural stones. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the integrity and strength of our buildings and your attention to detail will contribute to the overall quality of our projects. Your work will directly impact the safety and longevity of the structures we build.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Measure and cut materials to specific lengths
- Lay bricks concrete blocks or stones in the appropriate pattern
- Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto bricks blocks or stones
- Ensure structures are plumb level and aligned
- Use specific tools such as trowels levels and jointers
- Inspect existing structures for repairs
- Follow safety procedures and protocols
- Collaborate with other construction professionals
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Provide estimates for materials and labor costs
- Complete all work to meet building codes and regulations
- Repair or replace damaged bricks blocks or stones
- Work at heights using scaffolding or ladders
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Apprenticeship or vocational training in masonry
- Proven experience as a Mason
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Ability to use masonry tools and equipment
- Physical strength and stamina
- Attention to detail and precision
- Understanding of safety procedures and protocols
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of different types of construction materials
- Problemsolving skills
- Valid drivers license
