We are looking for a founding data scientist to come on board and help define the future of outcomesbased learning at Kalvium. We re building the operating system for Education for every single student enrolled in higher education.

You will use your analytical stats and programming skills to help chart the path of how we ll measure progress of every student in Kalvium s programs and provide a quick feedback loop to them. Your progress will be measured by how fast student s learning improves and enable them to tap into better work opportunities.

Responsibilities

1. Work closely with the degree program team the product and engineering teams to define and develop methodologies to measure learning and compute a learning path for every student in our system
2. Implement systems and processes to perform analysis
3. Perform data analysis and investigations to evolve our teaching methods. You will answer questions like:
4. Will this change improve the learning of a course module How can we test it .
5. What method of assessment provides the quickest demonstration of course knowledge
6. Does a method of learning favour shortterm understanding longterm or both How can we tune it
7. What s the most efficient method of delivering a course at scale .
8. Suggest experiments to evolve our learning and content systems to tune for student outcomes.
9. Ideate discover and integrate new methods of understanding student growth.
10. Consistently report on the aggregate progress of students against the course/program path.
11. Build prototypes to explore and demo ideas.
12. Be a strong voice for a datainformed point of view within our engineering product and design organisation.

Skill and requirements :

1. You are a critical thinker with very strong attention to detail. You feed on curiosity and learning new skills.
2. You come with a startup mindset doing whatever is needed to solve a problem.
3. 6 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in learning/assessment systems is a bonus.
4. Handson/strong SQL skills and comfortable in at least one scripting or statistical programming language. You will own building and maintenance of the overall learning dashboards for the program.
5. Passion and interest in building a system of learning from scratch. This is going to be your focus for years to come.
6. Excellent communication: deliver findings and recommendations to nontechnical stakeholders in a clear and compelling fashion
7. MS or PhD in a quantitative field at least 12 years experience in a business environment or BS or Data Science Bootcamp graduate equivalent experience in a business setting considered.
