Job description
The Network Engineer/Sr. IT Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization's network infrastructure. This includes wired and wireless networks, routers, switches, firewalls, and other network-related equipment and NAS Storage. The Network Engineer/Sr. IT Engineer ensures network performance, availability, and security, while also providing technical support for network-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement network infrastructure based on organizational requirements and industry best practices.
Must have knowledge related to Networking and wireless devices- Firewall, Switches, Routers, Access Points.
Experience with NAS Storage database, network, and patch management.
Continuously monitor network performance and identify and address issues in a timely manner.
Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure network reliability and security.
Maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and inventory.
Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant teams.
Must have good hands with network configuration and connections.
Maximize performance by troubleshooting network problems and scheduling upgrades.
Collaborate with other IT teams, such as system administrators, to ensure seamless integration of network and system components.
Work on cross-functional projects as required.
Must have knowledge of system administration, hardware, and software.
Good knowledge with handling ticketing systems and resolving errors.
Set-up accounts and workstations.
Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery.
Must be good in communication.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
At least 4 years of experience in relevant domains.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
Proficiency in network hardware and software configuration and management.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
