RangeAero envisions itself among the leaders in the regional unmanned aviation with ultra-low-cost-aircraft globally, by strategically positioning the tech amp; development operations in India- an emerging hub for aerospace component manufacturing. RangeAero is materialising the opportunity for short-haul cargo operations at 4x speed with autonomous microlight helicopters (2-seater equivalent), with capacity of 150 kgs to cover 200 kms. About The Position You will be responsible for refining and implementing our Avionics system architecture and driving its physical implementation. You will drive the system-level design, testing, and integration of avionics hardware, including computing, sensing, actuation, communication, power, and display systems.
What Qualifications You Should Have A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience (or an advanced degree Masters with 2 year of professional experience, or PhD in a relevant field) is required.
What You'll Be Do - Develop the avionics architecture for the unmanned helicopter, considering integration with autonomy systems, control systems, and other avionics components.
- Design and implement communication systems for data transfer between the unmanned helicopter and ground control stations, including telemetry and command links.
- Specify and integrate navigation systems, such as GPS and inertial sensors, to provide accurate position and orientation information for the unmanned helicopter.
- Collaborate with control systems engineers to integrate avionics components with the helicopter's flight control systems, ensuring seamless communication and control.
- Select and integrate sensors relevant to avionics functions, including air data sensors, altimeters, magnetometers, and other environmental sensors.
- Design and implement power distribution systems to ensure reliable and efficient supply to avionics components.
- Develop systems for monitoring the health of avionics components and providing diagnostic information to operators and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure avionics systems comply with electromagnetic compatibility standards and environmental requirements through testing and validation.
- Work closely with software engineers to integrate avionics software with overall system software, ensuring proper communication and functionality.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for avionics designs, specifications, test plans, and results.
- Collaborate with engineers from different disciplines, including autonomy, control systems, and mechanical systems, to ensure a holistic approach to unmanned helicopter development.
We Are Looking For Someone Who - Deep understanding of power generation (rectification, filtering and regulation) with an experience in design of rectification and filter circuits.
- Working knowledge of AC-DC , DC-AC, DC-DC converters. Design experience is a huge bonus.
- Proficient in C/C++, data Structures and algorithms.
- Knowledge on digital signal Processing, Filtering techniques.
- Experience in RTOS, embedded Linux kernel development, BIOS .
- Familiar with SoC level software development (ARM, x86 or other architectures).
- Experience developing RTOS on Cortex-M/ similar architectures.
- Experience writing drivers for sensors and enablement of RTOS on new boards.
- Knowledge of embedded networking protocols (CAN, I2C for inter board networking).
- Worked in the past with LTE/wi-fi based communication.
- Plus points if you have worked with FPGA or other custom boards.
How To Stand Out - Hardware debug experience, including familiarity with tools such as the oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and signal generators.
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of various EMI/EMC standards used in Industry.
