Job description
As a User Experience Researcher you will be responsible for user discovery including creating user journey maps, conducting usability evaluation, and prototype testing by collaborating with Product Owners, Software Engineers, and UX Designers to drive the overall design and development.
Your duties will include:
- Creating research reports, user journey maps, business processes, workflows, personas, day-in-the-life scenarios, and use case summaries to help deepen the organizational understanding of our users
- Provide insights to the organization that drive meaningful change for our customers
- Partner with other researchers, designers, and engineers to execute user-centered design principles and processes in a team environment
- Working with UX designers to implement solutions to concerns uncovered in research
- Working with designers and software engineers to prototype and evaluate alternate solutions
- Identify customer needs and collaborate with key stakeholders to craft the employee digital experience
- Develop detailed research plans and proposals that outline goals, hypotheses, and methods
- Facilitate global research and/or usability test studies, which include selecting and scheduling research and/or usability test participants prior to the studies.
Required Skills - Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:
- 5+ years of experience performing discovery activities to develop deep customer understanding, reveal pain points for users, and define research questions
- 5+ years of experience planning user research studies and selecting appropriate metrics
- 5+ years of experience collecting user data, including a strong aptitude in usability testing, contextual inquiry, card sorting, heuristic evaluations, task analysis, etc.
- 5+ years of experience analyzing complex user data and performing significance testing
- 5+ years of experience writing research reports and presenting results to leadership/stakeholders
- 5+ or more years of work experience in an Agile/Scrum team environment
- 5+ years of experience working within an iterative, user-centric design process
- 5+ years of experience partnering with UX Designers and Product Owners to bring research findings to life in the form of new or improved solutions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills (written, verbal, comprehension, and presentation)
- Comfortable using software such as Figma, Qualtrics, Mural, Adobe Analytics, ContentSquare, etc.
Desired Skills - Experience working in the manufacturing, and/or agriculture domains.
- Experience conducting remote usability testing and interviews
- A CPE/CUXP/CHFP or UX certification from NN/g or HFI is a plus
- Expertise in Figma
- Knowledge of statistics and research study design
- Experience in design thinking.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Usability, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Anthropology, IT, Engineering, or additionally relevant field
