Job Description for News Writer

1. A technical news writer must have strong writing and organizational skills to merge information from various credible sources into a single, coherent story.

2. Synthesize the information gathered from various sources to identify patterns, trends, challenges, and opportunities within the fiber-to-fashion spectrum and present your findings in a cohesive and logical manner. Incorporate data and insights from different sources to understand the variations of market dynamics for a comprehensive analysis and presentable/ readable format for technical news.

3. Investigate and write news stories on the market dynamics of international trade, trade policies, Tariffs, Trade Agreements, Intellectual Property Rights, production capacities of countries/ companies, emerging technologies, and competitive trends in prices, quality, and sustainability, etc. in the textiles and fashion industry.

4. Develop news stories as per information already generated by the research/news desk of our Company. Make your research newsworthy and identify a captivating angle or hook that would interest a broad audience.

5. Prepare and complete news scripts or articles to adhere time schedule.

Qualification: Master's in economics/Econometrics/Development Economics/ Commerce/ Statistics/MBA in international trade/ MBA in Finance from reputed institutions/universities.

Reporting: Director /Chief Market Research

Work Experience: 2-3 years of experience in research, and content writing in areas such as textiles, fashion, apparel, economy, trade policies, competitiveness, etc.

Skill Sets

Overall skills:

Undertaking research writing that covers the entire spectrum of fiber-to-fashion. It requires careful planning, data collection, analysis, and synthesis of information from various sources to make it news. Keeping abreast of the latest developments in the industry and trade. This covers a global audience.

Skill Set details:

• Primary and secondary research on reports related to the textiles and apparel sector including economic, and socio-political factors influencing the industry and trade.
• Conducts quantitative and qualitative research on trends and patterns in the textiles and apparel sector including allied industries. A clear understanding of data analysis and data analysis tools
• Strong command of writing skills and strategizing/summarizing information.
• Must be comfortable in writing content on the current trends in the industry and trade.
• The candidate must understand international trade in the sector, particularly trade competitiveness, trade agreements, trade policies, and international issues affecting the sector.
• Excellent skills in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint Presentation.
• An ideal candidate will be a quick thinker and fast news creator.
