Job description
Position Summary:
To be fully in charge of consultation services products from planning to execution assigned by the Service Planner/Manager within stipulated budget and delivery timeframe to the satisfaction of customer.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
Functional Role:
- Execute consultation services jobs assigned by Service Manager within stipulated budget and contractual completion date. Consultation services products include but not limited to Critical Components Assessment, Crane Reliability Study, Geometrics, Consulting and Training.
- Execute consultation services jobs assigned by Service Manager within stipulated budget and contractual completion date. Consultation services products includes Rope Q , Crane Q, Rail Q.
- Be the contact point for customer once job starts and attend to all technical clarification, planning, technical issues or problems, document submission and execution. Except for commercial issues.
- Update Service Manager regarding job status on a weekly basis through Work In Progress meetings. Latest job status/estimated completion date and other required info to also be updated in Siebel.
- Prepare preliminary documentations such as risk assessment, method statements and other required documentations prior to job execution.
- Attend to site/technical meetings as required.
- Highlight to Service Manager and Sales on any additional or deviation of scope due to unexpected changes during execution or request by customer, before committing to customer.
- Work together with service planners, admins and SM for job arrangements including tools, manpower, parts arrangement.
- To support Service department in other operation related tasks such as technical investigations.
- Mentor or teach new technicians as assigned by Service Manager.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by Service Manager.
- Awareness of ISO 14001 & 45001 Standards .
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies and Proficiency Level:
Microsoft Office (incl. Ms Project): AK
AutoCAD: WK
*Basic Knowledge (BK), Working Knowledge (WK), Advanced Knowledge (AK)
Academic Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in technical roles in heavy manufacturing/ material handling industries, PORT services background is added advantage.
- Experience/Knowledge of site safety requirement, and installation process.
- Certifications such as Working at Height, OGSP or equivalent is an added advantage.

- Flexibility of working hours to accommodate plant/customer shutdowns
- Ability to perform the job tasks, which includes but not limited to working from height
- Solid written and verbal customer communication skills
- Able to work under pressure and to deliver under tight deadlines
- Excellent report writing skills
