Purpose of Position:
The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for Embedded Design and Development of New Hardware modules and sustainment activities. He will be responsible for Critical component Engineering & Product costing to arrive at the lowest cost meeting the requirements, Quality and security.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide design leadership for competitive solution meeting product cost, security, standards and features.
- Collaborate with architecture team to arrive at the strategy for product considering availability, feature, cost and longevity.
- Ensure availability of released components for new and current designs to maintain smooth production.
- Collaborating with EMS, supply chain to select competitive distributor/ suppliers/manufacturers to ensure best cost and lead time.
- Sustainment of current products with GVR's change management process.
- Create and maintain component library with alternates.
- Building team skills on Hardware and best practices on component selection criteria
- Driving VAVE efforts across products/platforms
- Monitoring and driving Engineering KPI's
Education & Experience: The ideal candidate will have.
Total Experience in years: 8 to 12 years
Graduation/ Degree: BE Electronics/ BTech Electronics
Background and Skills: The ideal candidate will have.
Domain (Preferred Industry) – Industrial, Medical, Automobile, Payment & Banking, OEM
Skills Required (in Detail)- Product cost analysis, VAVE ideation and implementation experience
- Obsoletion management of Electronics
- Good negotiation and communication skills
- Product life cycle management through change management tools/ERP
- Understands the customer requirement and converting it to product requirement.
- Hands on Embedded hardware design using 32/64-bit Microcontrollers of difference architectures like ARM cortex PIC/ST/NXP/Renesas controllers.
- Hands on interfaces like SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, USB, DDR, Ethernet, Wifi, WAN, LoRa WAN, Bluetooth, Serial devices, RS232/485, Current loop
- Hand on experience on the different sensors Proximity, inductive, MEMS, Temperature, Proximity, TOF, Pressure, Light, Ultrasonic, Gas, Flow sensors, Shaft encoders,
- Hand on experience on debugging tools, dataloggers, scopes
- Hands on Compliance of products/parts as per international standard like IEC6100/OIML/Atex/CE and automobile standards
- Innovating and introducing new technologies to the existing products
- Hardware proto build and EMS coordination, DFM resolutions & Change management
- Hardware release - BOM, Gerber and assembly through ERP
- Helping Integrator of product during Product builds- Proto – Component/Systems and solving concerns
- Problem solving for electronics commodity for Internal and external complaints and field monitoring.
- Tools set – MS office, AutoCAD, Cadence Schematic, PCB layout, SI/PI simulations
