Role Summary: We are seeking a passionate and creative Community Development Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for moderating, creating, managing, and developing our communities on Facebook, Discord, and Mastodon. This role is perfect for someone who is deeply interested in social activism, has a knack for digital community engagement, and is eager to make a significant impact through social media platforms. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies to grow our communities on Facebook, Discord, and Mastodon, ensuring they are engaging and supportive spaces. Moderate discussions to maintain a positive environment, ensuring community guidelines are followed. Create and schedule regular content, including posts, discussions, and events, to foster engagement and participation. Analyze engagement data to understand community behavior and adjust strategies accordingly. Collaborate with the team to develop campaigns that promote social activism and community involvement. Provide support and guidance to community members, acting as a point of contact for queries and discussions. Stay updated with trends in social media and community management to continually innovate and improve our community engagement efforts. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree in Communications, Social Sciences, Marketing, or a related field. Strong interest in social activism and community development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in managing or moderating online communities, preferably on Facebook, Discord, and Mastodon. Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and engage a diverse audience. Proficient in using social media analytics tools to gauge the effectiveness of community engagement strategies. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
