Job Description
• Planning, organizing and coordinating of the ladle activities aimed to SMP production
requirements with good percentage of purging availability and free opening of ladle nozzle.
• Carries out duties assigned by the supervisor according to production requirements.
• To ensure availability of consumables and tools required for carrying out the assigned duties of ladle flow control and purging
• Ensures that all safeties in the machine are working, abides by the company policy to confirm to safety regulations.
• Ensures that work area is clean and free of any obstacles or encumbrances.
• Ensures the effective implementation of operational policies covering all areas of the ladle preparation so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a cost –effective quality product to SMP operation.
• Carries out timely cleaning & replacement of the consumable refractory parts to ensure smooth and trouble free operation
• Ensures that the ladle slide gate nozzle is filled properly with the ladle nozzle filling sand to ensure free opening of the ladle on the casting machine.
• Ensures that the ladle after casting is always maintained clean of slag and attached metal.
• Ensure that the remaining thickness of the porous plug is the optimum and gives the desired purging efficiency.
• Ensure that the ladle is placed properly on the EAF ladle transfer car and the purging hoses are connected and the ladle is under preheating
• Ensure that the mechanical components and tools are well taken care off and not damaged
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
• Sufficient Technical knowledge of flow control technology and porous plugs & hot ladles
• Good Planning Skills, Time Management, Communication Skills
• Higher secondary school
