Job description

Design Engineer Intern Manastu Space Technologies • Powai, Maharashtra

About Manastu Space We believe that due to limited resources on the planet, there is a need to look out for an alternative to solve our problems, and that another side is space. This option is viable only if we have low-cost and sustainable access to space. Manastu Space is working with the exact vision of reducing the cost of access to space. We are a

Space Safety

and

Logistics

Company, using technology to save the Trillion $ Space industry from

Debris Pollution in Space . We believe that the problems of Earth can be solved using Space. However, the rapid increase in the number of satellites is also increasing the risk of

satellite collision , leading to Debris pollution- making space a dangerous place for other satellites as well as astronauts. To prevent this, we are developing an

Agile, Safe, Efficient and Affordable

Green Propulsion System

with a new fuel, engine and catalyst for the engine to avoid satellite collision in space and prevent Debris Pollution, which can hence be a potential green alternative to the current monopropellant propulsion technology. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Design Engineer intern to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Design Engineer intern, you will play a crucial role in the development of thrusters and thrust test setups. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of aerospace engineering and propulsion systems.

Responsibilities: Thruster Design:

Collaborate with our engineering team to design and optimize thrusters, develop test setups, rigs and fixtures for various aerospace applications. Utilize 2D and 3D modelling software to create detailed thruster designs, ensuring efficiency, performance, and compliance with industry standards. Analysis:

Perform transient simulations to optimize thermal and fluidic system of the propulsion unit using ANSYS Fluent (ChemKin preferable) Manufacturing Drawings:

Generate comprehensive manufacturing drawings based on your design specifications. Work closely with our manufacturing team to ensure accurate and efficient production of thrusters and test setups. Prototyping and Testing Support:

Assist in the fabrication of prototype thrusters and test setups. Collaborate with engineers during testing phases, making necessary adjustments to designs based on test results to improve performance and efficiency. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of design iterations, manufacturing processes, and test results. Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating your design decisions and outcomes.

Qualifications: Completed or pursuing bachelor's / master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in fundamentals of heat transfer and fluid mechanics with respect to aerospace propulsion systems. Preferably with prior experience with multi-phase flow, piping system, structural dynamics. Proficiency in modelling software, SolidWorks preferable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
