[email protected] Job Purpose During Ship building Phase: To Supervise the Ship building as Owner’s representative. During Ship Operation Phase: Vessel Superintendent. Accountabilities (A) During New Ship Building Phase 1. Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority. 2. Represent Owners for the Machinery/Electrical part at the shipyard. 3. Be involved in all activities to ensure success of the “Supervisor” – plan approval, drawings approval, manpower availability, review meetings, monitoring progress, reporting deviations, seeking approvals, establishing document control mechanism, testing, inspections, trials, reporting any non-conformities, mitigating roadblocks on site. 4. Manage and assist with familiarization of take over ship staff on site with the site team to ensure that they are familiar with the vessel including design, equipment, and their operation prior to delivery. 5. Assist with the handover of the vessel with certification, owner-supplied items, bunkering and initial storing of vessel. 6. Prepare the Final project Close-out Report for Machinery/ Electrical part. (B) During Ship Operating Phase 1. Overall responsible for ensuring the upkeep and preservation of assets as owner’s representative thereby assuring of Ship Operator performance and due diligence. 2. Track and monitor vessels’ certificates and ensure that all vessels always remain compliant. 3. Review incident reports received from Ship Operator and follow up for timely closure and implementation of preventive measures to all sister vessels as applicable. 4. Conduct Periodical visits to every vessel in a year, preferably one of them should be a sailing visit. Prepare ship inspection report and issue observation list to Ship operator and follow up for timely closure of observations. Key Relationships Internal: Ethane Business operations group. External: Coordinate with Vessel Operator for all Technical matters. Experience & Educational Requirements Necessary: Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent. Marine Engineering Officer (Chief Engineer License) MEO Class – 1 Desirable: Gas/ chemical course, Knowledge of PMS, Pedagogical skills, Knowledge of MS office, Vetting & ship inspection, Operation & Technical Risk analysis. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: Necessary Sailing experiences on LNG / LPG vessels up to rank of Chief Engineer. 2 to 3 years’ experience as Chief Engineer. Shore experience (1 to 2 years) as Technical Superintendent. Dry-docking experience as owner/ Manager. Desirable 1-2 years New Build supervision as Site manager /Machinery Supervisor / Class Surveyor / Superintendent. Experience of Korean yards.
