Job description
Job Objective:
To evaluate the stability of the patient with assessment of need for immediate interventions, mitigating the immediate risks.
Key Responsibilties:
- Attending and examining patients coming to Emergency department.
- Effective history taking and examination techniques to determine the likely differential diagnosis and start preliminary treatment accordingly.
- Prescribing Laboratory & Radiology tests.
- Preparing patient file, documenting consent records, MLC, LAMA.
- Conducting Minor Emergency Procedures.
- Perform clinical or bedside procedures as requested by consultant ,medical staff and nursing staff .These may include Pleural tapping ,ascetic Tapping, giving of intravenous drugs to patients or any other procedure in instructed by treating physician
- Supervise the nursing care.
- Inform admitting consultants of changes in medical condition of patients and of relevant action taken and escalate to physician as needed.
- Proper handing over of patient as the time of shifting.
- Visit patients as required at the request of the nursing staff or by patient attendants.
- Following assigned duties as per roster.
