Job description
Purpose of the role: The Actuarial Specialist will be responsible for providing excellent client support through several activities across a range of Pensions Products. The role entails delivering software solutions to our clients, in collaboration with other Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers to ensure that the agreed business requirements are met.
The Actuarial Analyst will be involved in the development and testing of the calculations for several Life and Pension Products. Working closely alongside the Product team, the role entails delivering software solutions to our clients, in collaboration with other Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers to ensure that the agreed business requirements are met. Responsibilities: Undertake software and calculation configuration activities using our in-house software packages Maintain and update calculation system owned by the team Develop python models for calculations Translate calculation requirements into system change specifications for use by development teams Using SQL/Excel to prove changes have been developed to spec Support clients through the lifecycle of the team’s activities including design, test and implementation Provide actuarial input for companywide projects, driven by IT & Change or internally, impacting on the existing book of business, including the specification, development and implementation of solutions Required skills and knowledge: Key Technical Skills Required · Educated to degree level in a computing / analytical / statistical / mathematical discipline or relevant experience · A Level Mathematics Grade A* - A · Keen to pursue Actuarial Science · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical mind Desirable skills and knowledge: Technical Skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tool suite including latest versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of MS SQL Excellent knowledge of Excel and VBA Working knowledge of Python Personal Skills · Enthusiastic with excellent problem-solving skills · Showing initiative / self-motivated to get the job done and improve practices · Great interpersonal skills - ability to converse with both internal and external customers · Excellent written and verbal communication · Helpful and friendly, thriving in front of a challenge with a strong desire to succeed The individual must demonstrate a strong desire to learn and develop their skills.Job tags
