Job Title: Athletic Sports Coach
Job Location: Bangalore Job Type: [Full-time] Job Summary The Athletic Sports Coach is responsible for developing, organizing, and coaching sports programs for students in alignment with the IB curriculum. The primary objective is to foster a positive sports culture, promote physical activity, and encourage students to develop skills and values such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
Key Responsibilities - A Athletic Coach Sports Coach leads and teaches various athletic sports
- Curriculum Integration: Integrate the IB learner profile attributes, such as being principled, open-minded, and reflective, into sports programs to promote holistic development.
- Skill Development: Design and implement age-appropriate training sessions to enhance students' sports skills and knowledge of the game.
- Team Building: Foster a sense of unity and teamwork among athletes, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and good sportsmanship.
- Game Preparation: Prepare athletes for competitions, tournaments, and matches, ensuring they understand game strategies and tactics.
- Safety: Ensure the safety of students during practice and games, including proper warm-ups, adherence to safety guidelines, and injury prevention.
- Physical Fitness: Develop fitness programs and conditioning routines to improve athletes' physical strength, agility, and endurance.
- Sports Events Coordination: Organize and coordinate sports events, intramural activities, and inter-school competitions, both locally and internationally.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, school administrators, and other coaches.
- Skill Assessment: Regularly assess and evaluate the progress and performance of student-athletes to identify areas for improvement.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest coaching techniques, trends, and developments in sports education and coaching methodologies.
- Adherence to IB Principles: Ensure that coaching practices align with the IB program's educational goals, including the development of students' international-mindedness and global awareness.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field (a master's degree may be preferred). with Specialization in Athletics sports
- Relevant coaching certifications, such as the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) or equivalent.
- Previous coaching experience, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate program and its educational philosophy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
