Job description
As a Geologist specializing in the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM), he will be responsible for providing geological expertise and support for tunnel construction projects. His role will involve conducting geological assessments, analyzing rock formations, and advising on excavation methods to ensure the safe and efficient construction of tunnels using the NATM.
Key Responsibilities:
Geological Site Assessments:
- Conduct detailed geological assessments of tunnel sites to understand the geological conditions.
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the rock formations.
Excavation Methodology:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop excavation methodologies based on NATM principles.
- Provide recommendations for ground support systems and measures to mitigate geological risks.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect and analyze geological data using various techniques and tools.
- Interpret geological data to make informed decisions regarding tunnel construction.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Implement monitoring systems to track changes in geological conditions during construction.
- Generate regular reports on geological conditions, risks, and recommended actions.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with geotechnical engineers, tunnel designers, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of geological considerations into the NATM process.
