Job Title: Operations Engineer - IT Managed Services Division: Managed Services Location: Chennai CTC: 15-25 LPA As this position is based in India and you will be required to communicate with the team and customers based in Australia and therefore hours of working need to be closely aligned with Melbourne time zone. What We Are Looking For We are looking for a Level 2 Engineer with over 4-years experience in offering technical support working for a Managed Services Provider. The core activities of the position will be in the Managed Services operations team in performing the following functions (but is not limited to): Maintenance and housekeeping: Perform routine task and activities such as patch management, backup management, and review of logs to ensure environment health as per best practice and in-line with Bytes standards Availability, Performance, and Capacity management: Provide root cause analysis, troubleshooting investigation, and knowledge base article development based on the event management platform to ensure preventative measures to ensure zero business impact Resolution of all allocated tasks and tickets as per Bytes standards (based on ITIL framework) Functional Responsibilities - What You Will Be Doing Execute routine BAU activities per service catalogue and not limited to items in the scope of services. Patch management - ensure all managed devices have the latest available patches including security, vulnerability etc. Backup management - ensure backups are valid and running without any issues with schedule image verification and test/restore tasks. Immediate analysis of events generated by the monitoring tools to investigate the potential risk and implication of availability, performance, or capacity. Maintain ticket hygiene as per ITIL and Bytes processes Action basic root cause analysis - undertaking problem management to investigate the root causes of incidents for proactive prevention of problems. Participating in a rotating on call roster shifts to ensure 24*7 coverage. Key Accountabilities - What You Will Be Measured On Accountabilities will include but are not limited to the following and will be updated from time to time: Maintenance activities - 100% completion of maintenance tasks within the scheduled time Completed tickets within target = 70% of tickets resolved within 1st contact Root Cause Analysis for every Problem tickets Meet and exceed the SLA Full Adherence to Byte Operational Processes Event Management, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Patch Management, Backup management. Essential Technical Capabilities skills/ experience you will need to have ITIL Foundation certificate Bachelors degree in an IT or related discipline Minimum 4 years experience within a Managed Services environment, supporting multiple customers Experience in troubleshooting various components of infrastructure Windows Desktop and Server and network infrastructure Experience with Microsoft cloud environment (Azure) Experience with Microsoft Exchange, SCCM, WSUS, HyperV Experience in Backup Management preferably technologies Veeam, Azure Backup and Avamar. Passionate about learning, and working independently. Highly desirable Certification in Azure Cloud MCSA or MCSE in Windows Server Technologies VMWare Certified Professional Knowledge of monitoring tools such as ScienceLogic Job Details Work type: Hybrid work model but will need to attend the office at least 3 days a week. Work location: Chennai and needs to reside in Chennai. Work timings: 8 hrs a day with some reasonable additional overtime as expected. Official Working Days: Monday to Friday Official Work time: IST 8am to 4pm / 4pm to 12am / 12am to 8pm Public Holidays : Indian calendar-based holidays.
