POSITION SUMMARY:

Leads and co-ordinates HR, Personnel, and General Administration activities of the business and all its functions including manufacturing operation, commercial and all support functions e.g. finance, IT/Business System, engineering etc.,. Demonstrated experience creating, implementing and leading the HR functional strategies & tactics and strong foundation in all HR, IR, ER & General Administration areas, including compensation benefits, Labour relations, Employee welfare, Training & Development, Staffing, Employment, Performance Management and Succession planning. .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support and ensuring that Renold always complies with legal and internal business requirements as a minimum. Ensure that the organisation has the appropriate HR policies and processes in place to enable the efficient and legal operation of the business and apply the policies and procedures in support of the organizational goals. Help to embed the values of the organisation in all that is done and seek to build a positive and engaged workforce base on these values. Support the organisation leaders and managers in the correct application and administration of the policies and procedures of the business and where necessary ensure compliance. Assist business managers in planning the cost effective structure of the organisation and to recruit the right staff, in a timely fashion, with the right skills and experience at the right cost to populate the structure. Identify, get agreement for (from MD – India & Group HRD) and implement a road map for HR activity to support the goals of the organisation. Plan and conduct new employee orientation Provide administration for and keep records of personnel and other HR related matters such as pay, benefits, promotions, transfers, grading, terminations, performance management etc. Advise and act to ensure good industrial relations with union and employees are managed and maintained, including supporting all negotiations, and wage agreements. Support the business managers in grievance, disciplinary or performance investigations Offer guidance to managers on all HR issues and where necessary provide coaching and support to managers to ensure proper and effective resolution of these matters. Ensure corporate compliance with all necessary legislative requirements. Identify individual and organisational training needs and provide support to allow these needs to be met. Suggest, get agreement to and implement talent and succession planning actions as necessary. Continually monitor reward policies including pay and benefits and recommend any actions to senior management to enable to cost effective operation of the business. Operate as a member of the senior management team in India advising, coaching and supporting the other functional leaders so as to enable them to fully realize the organisational goals. Support the organization in the handling of employee grievances. Ensure employee welfare. Wage and salary administration General Administration Capable of managing a small team of HR staff effectively. Able to operate independently without day to day direction. Keep the Group HR Director informed of local developments, activities and issues in a timely manner.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE M SW / MBA - HR / MA - HR / Post Graduate Diploma – HR with highly successful documented experience in HR / IR. Must have a demonstrated track record of success operating at a senior level HR in a manufacturing environment. Candidates from service sectors like IT, ITES, Insurance ,Banking need not fit. Must have headed HR function in a similar sized organisation. Experience in working in an international organization with the experience of working with and reporting to an executive leadership team outside India preferably European, ideally UK or USA.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret business documents, letters, financial reports, and legal documents. Fluent in Tamil is required. Must have excellent spoken and written English – able to communicate with ease face to face, by phone and video conference and by email.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from data. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of information in numerical, verbal or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

COMMITMENT TO QUALITY

Ensuring that the provision of HR support is of a high standard is critically important. Problems and errors that arise must be fixed so that they do not re-occur every opportunity must be taken to improve all aspects of HR provision. The HR Manager must be familiar with the quality procedures of the organisation and the work instructions that relate to this position and must follow them.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Successful candidate must be proficient in PC applications to include Windows, and Microsoft Office or equivalent database/spreadsheet applications.

Must project sufficient professionalism and gravitas as a senior manager and HR professional to earn respect and successfully influence those around them.

Must have a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

Must be energetic and committed to hard work, focused on delivering real world results/outcomes.

Must be able to think longer tem but deliver operationally whilst coping with the day to day routine HR issues.

Must have courage, confidence and conviction to say and do what is right for the organisation and those working in it. Be able to influence and persuade others to their point of view if others do not agree.

Willingness to challenge the status quo, set challenging and ambitious targets and deliver on them.

Must be resilient, capable of coping with ambiguity and prioritizing the important elements in a very challenging environment,

Capable of identifying and leading change and continuous improvement in all aspects of the business, seeking to fix problems rather than patch them over, remove waste, reduce cost and improve efficiencies and operational effectiveness.

Capable of standing their ground in the face of opposition if activity, practice or process is believe to not be in the best interests of the business goals or not compliant with legal requirements or organisational policies. Can resolve such conflicts in a professional manner referring to more senior management only when absolutely necessary.
