The Equiniti Group is looking for a Senior Server Operations Engineer to help us deploy and manage our Global Infrastructure hosted in multiple data centres and cloud.
We are searching for a passionate engineer to join our team to help us evaluate, implement, deploy and support technologies that enable our users to collaborate with UK & US Customers. The motivated candidate should have a firm understanding of IT System Infrastructure with good knowledge and understanding of server infrastructure (Windows & Linux), Fileservers, Security fundamentals, network devices such as load balancers and Firewalls.
Responsibilities and skills required include:
Proactively maintain and develop all operational infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service.
Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
Good knowledge and experience in managing Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.
Good knowledge and experience in managing Microsoft Infrastructures (Windows Server, Active Directory, RDS) and Hypervisor technology (Hyper-V and VMware)
Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, certificates, hot fixes and on servers, workstations, and network hardware
Awareness of vulnerability management systems and security remediation.
Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
Expert in Powershell, Shell, Perl, and/or Python, terraform scripting
Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef, Ansible.
Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, etc.
Public cloud skills and awareness (eg Microsoft Azure, AWS) will be added advantage, particular with infrastructure as code skills.
Excellent troubleshooting skills: Able to solve authentication issues, troubleshoot connectivity issues with servers and certificates.
Experience with integrating applications and providing support related to infrastructure.
Enhance and improve existing infrastructure through automation and reporting.
Take handoff of problems from SME leads and work them independently to root cause.
Own Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management for Infrastructure issues.
Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
Improve existing processes through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions or documentation.
