Job description
As a Cardiology Nurse, you will work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care under the direction of the cardiologist. Additionally, you will educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatments, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal heart health.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients with cardiovascular conditions, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical exams, and reviewing diagnostic test results.
Treatment Planning: Assist cardiologists in developing individualized treatment plans for patients based on their medical history, symptoms, and diagnostic findings.
Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing procedures such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about cardiovascular conditions, treatment options, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications (e.g., diet, exercise, smoking cessation) to promote heart health and prevent complications.
Medication Management: Administer medications as prescribed by the cardiologist, monitor patient responses to medications, and educate patients about proper medication administration and potential side effects.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care across various healthcare settings.
