We provide materials - soccer balls, skipping ropes - and set up activity programmes for children with no access to school and who have lived through 13 years of war. These children are desperate for opportunities to play.

You will help build their resilience while playing and forgetting the miseries of their day to day lives.

You will be supporting the Education Manager of ReliefAid to deliver, monitor and build the resilience project BounceBack4Syria that is operated remotely and delivered by a team on the ground in Syria.

An interest in Education, International Relations and Humanitarianism and a strong desire to help children is essential. You may have had past involvement in the International Aid sector or be looking to move into a career in this area. A background in education may be useful.

The project relies on connecting with the team in Syria through email, social media Google Drive and WhatsApp. Confident computer skills are essential.

Self-starter, reliable and excellent communicator

Collating written, photographic and video materials that comes in regularly from the team in Syria.

Planning future interventions and discussing strategy.

Promoting the project through developing marketing materials and social media may be included.The project relies on donations and raising awareness in schools and organisations

Assisting with report writing

The project runs through the summer months in Syria, so typically May to November. Windows for communications with Syria are early morning 6am - 8am and early evening NZ time 5pm - 9pm. There are no set days but communication is on a need’s basis. When a project is happening monitoring material is received every 2 - 3 days.

The expectation would be of 15 hours a week generally.
