Job Title : Head of EngineeringDepartment : EngineeringReports To : Chief Executive OfficerJob Summary : The Head of Engineering will lead our engineering department and provide technical leadership and strategic direction. This role includes overseeing the development and delivering high-quality software products, fostering innovation, and driving continuous improvement.Job Responsibilities : - Lead the engineering team in developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications aligned with business priorities.- Facilitate communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including investors and potential clients.- Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into scalable solutions.- Advocate for and implement agile practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.- Manage the engineering budget, optimizing resource allocation and technological investments.- Oversee recruitment and development of engineering talent, ensuring alignment with budgetary and organizational goals.- Cultivate an engineering culture that values empowerment and technical excellence.- Uphold coding, documentation, and testing best practices.- Maintain accountability for the development process, product quality, and performance metrics.Qualifications/Skills : - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.- 8-12 years of relevant industry experience.- 4-5 years in a management role.- Adaptable thinker with the capacity to address challenges innovatively.- Proven record in leading high-performance teams.- In-depth understanding of industry trends and technological advancements.- Skilled in architecture validation and high-level design.- Proficiency in backend development with Java, MySQL, and Hibernate.- Experience in REST API development, testing, and monitoring.- DevOps mindset with familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools.- Expertise in cloud services such as AWS, GCP, and containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.- Ensure compliance of non-functional attributes (stability, security, availability, performance, etc. ) of the product to internal standards.Preferred Skills : - Experience in fast-paced startup or high-growth environments.Personal Attributes : - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.- Inspirational leadership and decision-making skills.- Strong motivational presence within teams.- Effective interpersonal and communication competencies.
