Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP BASIS Consultant with 4-5 years of hands-on experience in SAP implementations. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems to ensure their stability, performance, and availability. Your expertise in SAP BASIS administration and implementation will be instrumental in delivering successful SAP projects for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. SAP Implementation: Lead and participate in SAP implementation projects, including system landscape design, installation, and configuration of SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, etc.).

2. System Landscape Design: Collaborate with project teams to design SAP landscapes that meet business requirements, encompassing development, quality assurance, and production environments.

3. Installation and Upgrades: Perform SAP system installations, upgrades, and patches, adhering to best practices and minimizing system downtime.

4. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize the performance of SAP systems, addressing issues related to database performance, memory management, and system response times.

5. System Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect SAP systems, including user management, role assignments, and authorization concepts.

6. Transport Management: Manage the transport of SAP objects between development, quality assurance, and production systems using transport management tools.

7. Backup and Recovery: Establish and maintain backup and recovery strategies for SAP systems, ensuring data integrity and availability.

8. System Monitoring: Implement proactive monitoring solutions to detect and resolve system issues, minimizing disruptions to business processes.

9. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SAP BASIS components, including SAP kernel, databases (e.g., Oracle, HANA), and operating systems.

10. Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation, including system configurations, installation guides, and troubleshooting procedures.

11. Patch Management: Apply SAP patches, notes, and support packages as necessary to keep systems up to date and compliant.

12. System Copies and Refreshes: Perform system copies, system refreshes, and data migrations between SAP landscapes.

13. SAP System Monitoring: Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and system logs to ensure SAP systems operate smoothly.

14. User Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users and junior team members on SAP BASIS concepts and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of hands-on experience in SAP BASIS administration and implementation.
• Proficiency in SAP system installation, configuration, and administration.
• Experience with SAP system upgrades, patches, and support package implementations.
• Knowledge of SAP system monitoring and performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• SAP certification in BASIS is a plus.
