Job Summary:
As a Bartender, you play a crucial role in creating a positive and enjoyable experience for patrons. Your responsibilities include mixing and serving drinks, engaging with customers, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. Excellent customer service, bartending skills, and a friendly demeanor are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Mixing and Serving:
Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
Ensure drinks are accurately poured, properly garnished, and served promptly.
Customer Service:
Provide friendly and efficient customer service, engaging with patrons to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Take and process drink orders, making recommendations when requested.
Product Knowledge:
Have a thorough knowledge of the bar's drink menu, including ingredients, variations, and special promotions.
Stay informed about current beverage trends and be able to make suggestions to customers.
Cash Handling:
Handle cash and process payments accurately, providing change when necessary.
Keep track of tabs and close them out efficiently.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked with supplies.
Wash glassware and utensils, and ensure cleanliness of bar equipment.
Compliance:
Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and legal regulations.
Check identification to verify the legal age of customers before serving alcoholic beverages.
Upselling:
Promote special drinks or menu items to increase sales.
Encourage responsible drinking and monitor patrons for signs of intoxication.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other bar staff and kitchen personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Communicate effectively with servers and other team members.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage bar inventory, restocking supplies as needed.
Report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to management.
Event Support:
Provide bartending services for special events and functions as required.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Bartender in a similar setting.
Knowledge of drink recipes, mixing techniques, and garnishes.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
Certification in responsible beverage service is a plus.
Working Conditions:
The role involves standing for extended periods, working evenings, weekends, and holidays, and operating in a fast-paced, social environment.
