Purpose of the role

With the ever-growing footprint of UniOps at a rapid pace in the past few years, its equally vital to have a robust financial system, processes, and policy framework to ensure sustainable business operation, which would not only mean solid governance & control on the internal processes but would also mean a holistic assessment of internal and external factors impacting the overall business operations.

The Assistant Manager capex is a key position in financial controlling team of UniOps India where the position would be responsible for leading end to end capex accounting & related compliance of UEIT (Part of legal entity UKCR and represents technology wing of UniOps). The role provides an in-depth experience on software asset accounting, auditing, controls, risk management, SaaS and would be both individual contributor & Team Management (To lead & Manage Senior Executive – Capex) role based in India, reporting to Finance Manager/Controller.

Main Accountabilities

Accounting & Reporting

  • Accurate and timely financial asset accounting review and reporting on monthly basis.
  • Carry out E2E review & management of Fixed assets including Software & SaaS.
  • Strong governance & control on Capex including CWIP.
  • Ensuring & Reviewing smooth CWIP MEC process which includes CWIP postings, CWIP run & CWIP Ageing report.
  • Month end journals governance and review related to FA & CWIP.
  • Reviewing FAR as a whole which include Additions, Deletions & Depreciation Postings.
  • To Adhere to the policies (APM, GPM) related to FA including Software.
  • Annual validation of useful life of assets and related compliance.
  • Designing & maintaining robust processes on asset decommissioning.
  • Ad hoc reports on Fixed assets on monthly basis.
  • Lead & front end all FA & CWIP related requests & Reports.

Risk Management & Controls

  • Ensure that the Global Financial Controls Framework is embedded & operating on fixed assets.
  • Review and compliance of Schedule of Authority pertaining to fixed assets.
  • Access Rights coordination – modification, addition, and deletion
  • Safe custody of all documents, agreements, deposit receipts etc. pertaining to FA.
  • Providing UniOps top management analytical view on FA.

Annual Plan & Monthly forecast

  • Partner & collaborate on annual capex forecast and related amortization impact.
  • Provide updated monthly/quarterly forecast on amortization.
  • Variance analysis against budgets and to provide qualitative commentaries.

Process improvement

  • Review & improve the existing process of service mapping validation & asset decommissioning process.
  • Partnering & collaborating with FBPs on amortization cross charges and related improvement.
  • Apptio cross charges process alignment.

Statutory & Corporate Audit

  • Leading the closure of statutory & corporate audit requirements pertaining to fixed assets.
  • Partner & collaborate with UEIT FC team to ensure smooth closure of overall audit.

Key Skills/ Experience

  • MBA, CIMA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent Business Management or Finance degree
  • Has 4+ years of relevant experience and cultural awareness to work with a geographically, culturally diverse, and global team
  • Experience in managing month end process & management of Fixed assets including Software & SaaS a large/mid-size organisation
  • Leadership & people management

  • Ability to work fluidly with data and across systems
