Job description

Position Summary:

The Collection Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end process of accounts receivable, collections, and cash applications. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills to ensure timely and accurate processing of receivables, reduce delinquencies, and improve cash flow.

Job Duties:

Develop and implement effective strategies for collections to minimize overdue accounts.

Monitor and analyze customer payment trends, identifying and addressing potential issues promptly.

Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve customer disputes and discrepancies.

Supervise the accurate and timely application of cash receipts to customer accounts.

Implement and maintain efficient processes for cash posting and reconciliation.

Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate recording of transactions.

Lead and motivate a team of Accounts Receivable and Cash Application specialists.

Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.

Conduct regular performance reviews and set achievable targets for the team.

Continuously assess and improve collection and cash application processes.

Identify automation opportunities and implement technological solutions for efficiency gains.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.

Generate and analyze reports on collection and cash application performance.

Provide regular updates to senior management on key metrics and areas for improvement.

Develop and implement KPIs to measure the success of the collection and cash application processes.

Required Education and Experience:

10-15 years of success leading teams of a similar size with high-volume, fast-paced transactions in the Collections and Dispute Resolution.
