Job description

The Delta Cloud Engineering team designs, engineers and operates automation platform technology solutions that are leveraged by all Delta Air Lines product development teams. The Delta Cloud Engineering team is responsible for self-service Windows and Linux platform provisioning, hybrid (public and private) cloud management, and Delta’s Platform-as-a-Service operating environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Creating and supporting profiles and accounts in the AWS through technologies like the Landing Zone. Providing guidance to customers leveraging AWS in their development for of Delta solutions. Developing market places frameworks and tools to enable Delta for teams to leverage supported features in AWS. Developing usage reports/dashboards for account owners. Partner with infrastructure teams to help provide enterprise supported capabilities to the application team. Partner with operations teams to help define and document operation guidelines for teams in AWS. IE. Monitoring and Logging teams Partnering with Change Management teams to ensure we have the proper change management process and tools in place for our customers to consume. This engineer will also participate in, support, and direct engineering efforts for customer technology platforms migration to the cloud. They will mentor, train, and lead fellow team members and peers through design and implementation decisions to achieve balance between strategic design and practical needs for company initiatives. Lead and participate in AWS configuration and development, testing, proof of concepts, and solution validation. Partner with the Dev Tools team to develop and deploy a CI/CD pipeline for application teams to leverage using tools such as Gitlab, Maven and Jenkins. Develop automation using Ansible or Terraform Cloud Formation to support teams in acceleration of application delivery to AWS. Provide expert technical architectural support and guidance for solution opportunities that involve virtualization, cloud infrastructure, management and security, including integration with certain select 3rd party products. Build end-to-end application deployment solutions for Delta product delivery teams. Implementation of projects from concept to delivery from an operating platform perspective. Participate in scrum agile teams in a DevOps engineering role. Participate in system design improvements and performance enhancements. Mentor and educate others within the organizations in the areas of your expertise. Monitor and maintain all IT related equipment to ensure maximum availability to the organization. Responsible for the creation, management and upkeep of Intranet FAQs, User guides and Knowledgebase, standards and build documents including DR plan for the enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or 7+ years of relevant product experience.5 years of experience in Security Engineering, DevOps or IT Operations roles, strong familiarity with the principles of DevOps and Agile development; 3+ years of hands-on experience securing cloud applications and infrastructure (AWS strongly preferred); Excellent understanding/working knowledge of the public cloud infrastructure and services in AWS (IAM, VPC, KMS, Cloud Watch, Systems Manager, S3, RDS, Route53, Lambda, AWS Config, etc.) is a strong plus; Experience building and securing infrastructure as code using Cloud Formation, Ansible, SAM and/or similar tools. Understanding of software development lifecycle models, as well as the approaches to implement the AWS Well-Architected Framework; Understanding of the shared responsibility model in AWS; Fluency with one or more scripting/coding languages (e.g. bash, Python); Experience implementing and leveraging the logging and monitoring solutions is a plus; Relevant security and AWS certifications are a plus but not required. year’s experience with AWS products in a hands-on role. 3+ year’s in infrastructure and or network support 3+ year’s experience in software development lifecycle, TLM tools, and API integration. 3+ year’s experience developing software or scripting with Java, Javascript, REST, JSON, Python and UNIX shell. Experience with various configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet Terraform or SaltStack. Experience troubleshooting network-related issues such as DNS, and TCP/IP. Experience with Infoblox IMAP, F5 Big-IP Local Traffic Manager and Cisco ACI.[MOU1] Experience with log aggregations tools such as SumoLogic, Splunk or Elastic Stack. AWS Certified Professional – Associate. Ability to clearly communicate and present to various levels of the organization from junior developers to senior management. Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
